https://goddard-edu.zoom.us/j/94272664457 Will present and discuss the prototype of my final product, Mkunga Bui Bui Oracle Cosmogram. It is a self-help toolkit for the African American community. A creative cultural solution to a long persistent problem of high infant and maternal mortality rates. The high black infant and maternal mortality rates is a reflection of the colonization and enslavement of African Americans. The enslavement and colonization under white supremacy separated African Americans from their ancestral rituals and communal relationships that prevented many of today’s related reproductive issues. The ancient cultural bridge for healing and birthing wisdom was the mkunga, black midwife, in the African and African American cultures. My product is an infusion of the eight legs of of intelligence of the mkunga, numerology, and Bantu-Kongo cosmogram. It consists of four components: the Mkunga Bui Bui Oracle Cosmogram Storybook (context paper), anthology of 16 short stories and poems expressing the Mkunga’s epistemology, cosmogram board with moveable board pieces, and an instruction manual. I will discuss my journey that lead to the organic formation of my final product and how to use it.
